It is perfect for short cruises as well as long-term trips.

With this catamaran you will have a great sailing experience. Your crew will also find some work to do on-board, as this model has a jib in addition to the mainsail. Catamaran can be also equipped with a genakker sail.

Ducky 17 catamaran can be used for challenging long term cruises in various sailing environments.

This catamaran also has a simple construction, is relatively light and is designed for crews of 2 or 3 persons. Assembly time is just around 70 minutes without a single tool used! You can disassemble catamaran and pack it into 4 bags in just 35 minutes!

Additionally, it is possible to install an outboard engine with the power of 3.3 hp on the catamaran. For this purpose, a special transom board fastening to the stern beam is provided.

In the production of our catamarans, we use only high-quality materials and components from the world’s leading manufacturers. The frame, mast and connectors are made of aluminum alloy, which has high strength and lightness, and also has high corrosion resistance in sea water. For additional protection against corrosion, all parts are anodized. Сenterboard and rudder are made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. Sail is made of Dimension-Polyant dacron (170 g/m2) or mylar. All fastening elements are made of stainless steel. Hulls have two sections and are made of Valmex, special PVC boat fabric (1000 g/sq.m).

V-SHAPE BOW HULLS

Floats with shaped stems have more streamline form that enhances their hydrodynamics. In practice catamaran with such floats has softer sailing and better speeds comparing to standard floats due to lower frontal resistance. This advantage is easily noticeable when sailing sharp courses against a short steep wave. These floats are recommended for achieving higher speeds and better results, especially if you plan to attend regattas.

GENNAKER

The gennaker is an additional sail for downwind sailing including crosswind and close reach. When the fresh wind blows, the catamaran with gennaker can reach planing mode and increases speed significantly. This is recommended for people who are already experienced in sailing and would like to achieve higher speeds.

OUTBOARD MOTOR BRACKET

Outboard bracket is aimed for mounting a boat motor with a long shaft. The recommended engine output is 3.3 hp.

TILLER EXTENSION

Tiller extension is aimed for steering tiller at a distance. This is a useful option which enables you to relocate the weight on the trampoline and follow the correct trim (loading of the stern or bow) of the catamaran.

SIDE POCKETS

Side pockets are designed for keeping small things, clothes and other stuff. Standard oars can be kept there as well. Pockets are made from a micro-net fabric. Pockets can be placed on the right and left broadsides which in turn also creates additional protection from wind and water splashes.

MAST FLOAT

The float on a mast is an inflatable tank. It would not allow the catamaran to turn the mast down. Such a float will hold a catamaran on one side when catamaran is turned over and will not let it fully capsize. It won’t allow the mast to sink and hit the bottom and would prevent possible damages to the mast. The float on a mast has an aerodynamic shape. When needed, it is easily mounted and unmounted without using any tools. Floats are equipped with the fasteners.

SAIL FEEDER

Sail feeder is a useful option that significantly simplifies mainsail ascent. It directs the bolt rope into the mast track and eliminates the jamming of the sail during the ascent.
