Ducky 13 – Ducky

Ducky 13 is the smallest catamaran in Ducky family.

The smallest model is suitable to introduce both children and adults to the fascinating world of sailing.

It is an ideal boat for active entertainment on water, and completely safe even with minimal sailing skills.

In the development of this catamaran the special emphasis was to make it’s construction simple and minimize number of parts used during the assembly. This enables Ducky 13 catamaran to be assembled within 20-30 minutes and without a single tool used!

The exclusivity of the design for this boat – it has no standing rigging. The catamaran has a free-standing mast which eliminates the possibility of the catamaran capsizing in a strong wind conditions.

When you want to take a break and relax a little just remove the mast from it’s socket and you have a perfect sunbathing cot on your catamaran’s trampoline. The size of the trampoline: 1.8 x 1.8 m.

When disassembled and packed for transportation Ducky 13 fits into two bags: one 1.8 m long pack with 10 tube elements and another one 0.8 m long with floats, rudder, centerboard and sail.

As an extension an outboard engine of 2.2 hp can be mounted on special transom board mounted to a stern seat.

In the production of our catamarans, we use only high-quality materials and components from the world’s leading manufacturers. The frame, mast and connectors are made of aluminum alloy, which has high strength and lightness, and also has high corrosion resistance in sea water. For additional protection against corrosion, all parts are anodized. Сenterboard and rudder are made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. Sail is made of Dimension-Polyant dacron (170 g/m2) or mylar. All fastening elements are made of stainless steel. Hulls have two sections and are made of Valmex, special PVC boat fabric (1000 g/sq.m).

Additional options

V-SHAPE BOW HULLS

Floats with shaped stems have more streamline form that enhances their hydrodynamics. In practice catamaran with such floats has softer sailing and better speeds comparing to standard floats due to lower frontal resistance. This advantage is easily noticeable when sailing sharp courses against a short steep wave. These floats are recommended for achieving higher speeds and better results, especially if you plan to attend regattas.

OUTBOARD MOTOR BRACKET

Outboard bracket is aimed for mounting a boat motor with a long shaft. The recommended engine output is 2.2 hp.

TILLER EXTENSION

Tiller extension is aimed for steering tiller at a distance. This is a useful option which enables you to relocate the weight on the trampoline and follow the correct trim (loading of the stern or bow) of the catamaran.

MAST FLOAT

The float on a mast is an inflatable tank. It would not allow the catamaran to turn the mast down. Such a float will hold a catamaran on one side when catamaran is turned over and will not let it fully capsize. It won’t allow the mast to sink and hit the bottom and would prevent possible damages to the mast. The float on a mast has an aerodynamic shape. When needed, it is easily mounted and unmounted without using any tools. Floats are equipped with the fasteners.
